[GRLUG] Text editor freezes on "find"

[Grand Rapids Linux Users Group]

I'm trying to check a setting in LO's registrymodifications.xcu.

When I load it in the text editor (gedit), open the search box, and 
start typing 'Sidebar', gedit immediately searches 'S' and then freezes. 
The only way I can even close it is to kill the process (using the 
System Monitor).

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 on Dell XPS.

Any ideas why this is happening?
